Fargo Firefighters Local 642
About Us
Fargo Firefighters Local 642 (L642) is the official labor organization representing the dedicated professional firefighters who safeguard lives and property in the Fargo area. We are proud to be the Fargo chapter of the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF), which you can learn more about at iaff.org.
Our members deliver a wide range of essential services, including fire protection, emergency medical care, hazardous materials response, technical rescue operations, and water rescue efforts. In addition, we enforce fire safety codes, conduct fire investigations, and offer public education programs on fire safety and injury prevention for the Fargo community. Through state contracts, our members also staff regional hazardous materials response (HAZMAT) and technical rescue teams.
"Since joining the IAFF in 1939, we have actively engaged with the community to make the city of Fargo a safer place to work and live."
